for somebody who orders a wimpy decaf/nonfat/soy latte in a los angeles starbucks and comes originally from a tea/chai drinking part of the world, it is interesting that i am fascinated by coffee cultures of the world . i love the smell of fresh ground coffee especially if it’s mixed with some french waiter’s shout accross the caf tabac of your neighborhood and some cigar smoke (i am glad that cigarettes are going to kiss the french lips goodbye pretty soon).

the smell of european bookstores, stationeries and almost all of the french bakeries continue to delight me as well, and take me back to my childhood - very different from your usual “barns and freaking noble”…

the sparrow visiting your table at “deux magots” is of course a bonus…
