Happy New year on this first day of spring 1391 (Persian Calendar)!
The inspiration for this card is my little goldfish, Samad, who survived its little bowl since last Nowruz and is today a proud member of our haft seen!

Le petit poisson rouge, qui symbolise lui aussi le printemps et la vie, mais aussi parce que l’eau est associée à la pureté et à la transparence.
et si j’ai bien retenu, si l’on se pose une question sur ce que la nouvelle année nous réserve, la tradition veut que l’on prenne le livre de poésie que l’on a (Divan de Hafez ou Shahnama) et on l’ouvre sur une page au hasard. On obtient alors une réponse en interprétant les vers du poème se trouvant sous nos yeux…
Je ne sais pas dire Bonne Année en Persan, mais de tout coeur que cette nouvelle année soit emplie de joies de toutes sortes.

Ringing In Norouz, A Time For Family And Good Eats..
It’s the first day of spring, and for most people, that means, longer days outside, getting out the garden tools, and the beginning of barbecue season. But for Iranian-Americans and for others from the Middle East, Central and South Asia, today is the beginning of a New Year.
The holiday is called Norouz. In Persian, it literally means a “new day.” It’s seen as a time of rebirth and renewal, and like most holidays, Norouz is all about spending time with family, and eating lots of great food.

گلبانگ بهار است مگر، کز البرز
تا غربت غرب، سوی ما می آید

نوروزعزیز مقدمت گلباران
امسال نوید ابر: باران، باران
فصلی دوسه پاییزی غربت دیدیم
اینک نفس ِ بهار، آنک ایران

نوروز و بهار توامان می آیند
عید و گل و سبزه همزمان می آیند
فصل نو وآیین کهن هرساله
تا دورترین باغ جهان می آیند

نوروز خوش آمدی، صفا آوردی
در شهر چه بوی آشنا آوردی
گل، سبزه، شکوفه، خاک باران خورده
این محشر ُکبرا ز کجا آوردی؟

نوروز بشارت بهاری داری
